Our Best Mates
Though we don’t breed many litters, over the years we’ve had hundreds of dogs. Some are great farm dogs, some are great trial dogs. Often they go to their new owners as pups, but some stay here for a while before the right owner is found. We believe there is a good home for every dog, it’s just a matter of finding the right person for the right dog.
Of course, there are the ones who become part of our family. Here are some of our most special mates.
Bred by Gavin and Joanne Flavel, out of Wannape Cole by Marlowe Kelly II. Named after the movie Mickey Blue Eyes, Mick was hard-headed, but he was all sheepdog. He ran the farm for many years.
He always backed his own judgement over Milton’s. Working Mick was a 3 way battle – Mick versus Milton versus sheep!
He was a state rep, and the 2005 SA State Champion.
He mellowed in his retirement, developing a special bond with the family.
